When I first got my iPhone - I ignored the headphones that came with it in the box. I thought that they were similar to the ones that came with my wife's iPod. A couple of days ago while looking for the manual, I took a closer look at head-phones and boy are they different from the normal headphones that come with iPods.
iPhone head-phones have a small rectangular block on the right side ear-pieces wire. This rectangular block is a mic as well as a remote control. You can use it to take a call or reject a call, you can even control music playblack.
Here are the shortcuts that you use with the mic/button.
iPod controls:Pause a song or video Click the mic button once. Click again to resume playback. Skip to the next song Click twice quickly. iPhone controls:
Answer an incoming call Click once. End the current callClick once. Decline an incoming call Press and hold for about two seconds, then let go. When you let go, two low beeps confirm you declined the call. Switch to an incoming or on-hold call and put the current call on hold Click once. Click again to switch back to the first call. Switch to an incoming or on-hold call and end the current callPress and hold for about two seconds, then let go. When you let go, two low beeps confirm you ended the first call.
i have a 3gs and I have learned that while listening to ipdod on iphone if you click once and then click and hold you can fast forward thru what you are listening to.
